I always wanted to be an actor: Pa Vijay
IndiaGlitz [Tuesday, April 28, 2009]

Writer Pa Vijay is not too comfortable being labeled yet another writer turned actor. Nor is he too happy about being asked if he too, like director recently, has been bitten by the acting bug. Clarifying his stance, the writer says "I always wanted to be an actor only. But it’s not easy to just become a hero in Kollywood today, just because you want to. That was why I took to writing in cinema, following which I earned a lot of fame. This has enabled me to make a movie today" His first film as a hero, Thaikaaviyam, may have been postponed but the writer has written, produced and acted in a project, Nyabagangal.

But I’ve not tried to depict myself as a superhero in my movie. I just play the boy next door who writes for a passion. That is close to the person that I am in reality,Vijay says, adding that he already has his next story written in which he, again, will play the protagonist.

Thaikaviyam, meanwhile, has not been shelved, he informs. It has only been postponed indefinitely but will definitely been resumed,” he adds.
