Remember the podgy heroine who played a small, yet memorable role in Kamal Haasan’s Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu? The actress, who was ironically called Kayalvizhi in the film, is said to be out of action for sometime now, owing to a problem with her eyes.

It is now being reported that she has undergone a laser surgery for her eyes, and is in the convalescing period. Kamalini, a beauty from Bengal, has acted in two Tamil movies so far, ‘Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu’ and ‘Kadhalna Summa Illai’.

The actress is awaiting her next release in Tamil, ‘Idam Valam’, in which she acts with both Prithviraj and Srikanth. It is a cop story and the actress is said to have an important part to play in it. Following this, Kamalini is also said to have a Bengali film on the cards, for which pre production work is going on in full steam.
