Me, My Hubby & Our Production
IndiaGlitz [Friday, July 24, 2009]

She swayed around the trees, shying away from her hero. Then after making a successful stint in the industry, the actress takes the nuptial path. But with that she doesn’t end her filmy career; she would tend to return to the screen by being off-screen. An actress cannot break away from an industry that gave her an important place and so much recognition. She would always like to enjoy the status to be in news. So she makes a comeback with full support from her life partner and works behind the scenes.

Today, there are many successful married actresses who have maintained relationships with cinema. Most of them have turned towards producing movies and launching production houses. Apparently, such movies will have their darling husbands, in case of actresses married to actors, doing the main role. There are several movies in the process of releasing which are produced by once-upon-a-time actresses and the protagonist being their husbands.

‘Jackpot’ Kushboo has produced her husband, Sundar C’s ‘Aindham Padai’. Releasing today, the movie is directed by Badri. Sensational Simran is playing a negative shade in this one while Devayani is the other heroine to play a prominent part. Vivek provides the comic relief in this action cum masala film.

‘Jaggubhai’ has been making news for sometime. Radhika Sarathkumar with her home banner Radaan Mediaworks is producing ‘Jaggubhai’ in association with Sun TV Network. One of the popular couple in Tamil industry, Radhika has roped in her husband Sarathkumar to play the hero of this movie. While tinsel town’s sexy siren Shriya Saran will be his leading lady. After much delays and casting problems, the movie is finally on the ground work. The movie gives a platform for the debut music director, Rafee.

Simple and pretty Devayani becomes a producer for the first time with ‘Thirumathi Thamizh’. Her husband Rajakumaran plays a hero opposite ‘Aalwar’ famed Keerthi Chawla. Interestingly, she will be doing two characters in the movie and this is a comeback movie for music director, SA. Rajkumar.

The yoga guru is turning an actor! Bhoomika’s husband and yoga instructor is making his debut in film with her production. Bannered under “Down Down Films”, the Telugu movie is titled ‘Thakita Thakita’. Anushka plays the heroine and it is said that Bhoomika will do a small role in the movie. If all goes well, the movie will be remade into Tamil also.

It is such wonderful to see the husband and wife working shoulder to shoulder in one project. Keeping arguments and disagreements at bay, the couples bring out their common interests and give the audience something to marvel. Wish all their forthcoming combined endeavours reach the top skies.
