We hear that Jyothika who won over rave reviews for her role as a differently abled girl in ‘Mozhi’ was one among the nominees of the recently announced National awardees list.

Sibi Malayil, the renowned Malayalam director shared that Jo was competing with the other nominees like Meera Jasmine for Malayalam film ‘Ore Kadal’ and Umashree for Kannada film ‘Gulabi Talkies’.

Sibi Malayil, one of the jury members of this 55th National Film Awards for the year 2007 shared about the competition for the Best Female Actress award. “She was in contention for the award till the last round, in which Umashree emerged as the winner”, he revealed to the media.
