“News about various incidents and welfare measures must reach the public. And media is the best mechanism to take them to the masses,” Kushboo Sundar has said.

 

The actress was speaking in a debate on 'Does the media in India mirror or magnify reality?' organized by Landmark, a book and music selling store, at Nungambakkam in Chennai.

 

Kushboo said that while the news was required, there was also a need to distinguish between the good and bad content and take the right content into consideration.

 

Senior political commentator and columnist R Murari, Director General of Police, Fire & Rescue Service, R Nataraj, Congress MP Jayanthi Natarajan, Jaya TV Network vice-president (news) K P Sunil and advocate and legal scholar Geetha Ramaseshan also spoke. Television journalist Sanjay Pinto was the moderator to the debate.
