IndiaGlitz [Saturday, October 24, 2009]

Noted veena player and music composer Rajesh Vaidya on Thursday launched an music album titled 'Seventh Sense', a fusion of Classical and Western rhythms with vocalist Sudha Raghunathan.

The album was launched in the presence of veteran filmmaker K Balachandar, music composer Vidyasagar and S Ve Shekher.

The audio brought out by Amutham features seven tracks each dwelling on one particular Raaga. According to Rajesh Vaidya, 'it was my desire to come out with something different and unique for over a couple of years. The idea of doing a fusion album struck me and I approached Sudha Raghunathan. She readily agreed and rendered a Bharathiyar song Chinnanchiru Kiliyae. Besides the album has my own composition set in various raagas including Sindhu Bhairavi, Kaapi.'

'The highlight of the album is the improvisation that we have tried in Sindhu Bhairavi. We have given it charm by adding more percussion and rhythm. With Naveen on piano, Lavanya on saxophone and Mohan Ram on mridangam, Seventh Sense has music that will touch all hearts instantly', he added.
