‘Gnabagangal’ to go to Cannes
IndiaGlitz [Tuesday, October 27, 2009]

Lyricist-actor Pa Vijay has decided to send his ‘Gnabagangal’ to the Cannes Film Festival. Besides, he is all set to start his next heroic venture, an out and out action film, titled ‘Prabha’.

“Though ‘Gnabagangal’ failed to do well in the box-office, I am satisfied with the end product since I had presented a poetic love story. Now, I am planning to send the movie to the Cannes Film Festival,” he says.

On ‘Prabha’, he says, “In fact, it was the first script that struck my mind when I decided to become an actor. Even my friends wanted my first acting venture to be an action film. But I changed my mind since ‘Gnabagangal’ was about a poet.” “The film is about a young man, who is not aware of fear. The film will no doubt attract the audience and will also take me to the next level,” Vijay says with all hope.

So, will he bid adieu to lyrics? “Certainly not. I am primarily a poet. There is no question of quitting writing lyrics to movies. It was the one profession which made me hog limelight and to win many a heart.”
