Before establishing himself as an actor, Nakulan positioned himself as a singer. He rendered his voice for one of the songs composed by A R Rahman in ‘Boys’, which is his debut movie in acting.

He then followed it up with a number in ‘Anniyan’, composed by Harris Jeyaraj. Impressed by his voice, Harris Jeyaraj offered him a song in ‘Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu’ too.

And now, Nakulan, who is one of the important up and coming actors of Tamil cinema, has crooned for ‘Kandha Kottai’, a film in which he plays the lead. The actor is romancing Poorna (of ‘Muniyandi Vilangiyal Moondram Aandu’ fame) in the film directed by Shakthivel, who assisted Radha Mohan in ‘Kanda Naal Mudhal’.

Says music composer Dheena, “I decided that Nakulan should sing the particular song. His voice is youthful and oozes with energy.” On his part, the director says, “the song is the highlight of the movie. Nakulan is at his best rendering it with style and charm. Plans are on to shoot the song in New Zealand”.
