A film that was set to bring together Gautham Vasudev Menon and Jiiva for the first time was about to start on Independence Day eve. But it got delayed due to a sudden roadblock, which is however a temporary one.
"Things are back on track now and the yet-to-be-named project will now go to floors on August 29. It will be a romantic entertainer quite typical to Gautham Menon's style," say sources close to the development.
Meanwhile, Jiiva is on cloud nine about working with the popular director. "I always wanted to do a film with Gautham Menon. He is one of the finest directors of south India and an expert at presenting love stories."
On 'Nanban' directed by Shankar in which is playing one of the protagonists, Jiiva says, "Shankar sir is a task master and he knows how to extract the best from his colleagues. Every day was a learning experience on the sets of Nanban."
