Its official!

With the makers rubbishing the buzz that Mani Ratnam's next is 'Pookadai', Mani Ratnam has officially announced that this film will be titled 'Kadal', a title apt for the theme as it focuses on the lives of fisher folk.

This film that will have Karthik's son Gautham and Samantha Prabhu in the lead roles is a romantic entertainer. Samantha is called as the 'Lady Luck' in Telugu film industry for all her three films have been declared blockbuster hits.

The team will soon be leaving to the Andamans for a month long schedule where important songs and scenes will be canned. It's a romantic entertainer where Arjun Sarja, Thambi Ramiah and Lakshmi Manchu will be seen in pivotal roles. Music is by Isai Puyal AR Rahman, of course.

The film will focus on fishermen and showcase how fisher folk from Tamil Nadu get shot in the sea by the Sri Lankan navy and has a love plot intertwined with this.

This film will be released big post this summer by Madras Talkies.
