A Chennai Court on Tuesday asked office-bearers of the Tamil Film Producers Council to file a counter in a petition filed by president of the ad hoc committee of the council, Ebrahim Rowther.
In his petition, Rowther said he was elected as the president of the ad hoc committee at a general body meeting recently. He alleged that S A Chandrasekhar, S Thanu and P L Thenappan came to the association office and tried to interfere with the workings of the committee, even threatening members with dire consequences.
According to Rowther, Chandrasekhar was removed from the post of President of the Council, since most of the office-bearers were unhappy with his actions. But he was not ready to accept the decision of majority of members.
Recently, Rowther and his supporters registered a complaint with the police, alleging that SAC and his men were planning to assault them. Reacting to this, Chandrasekhar denied the charges and said he would sue them soon.
