Ever since she stormed back to power for the third time in May last year, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has been staying away from attending functions related to film industry.
Today, she will inaugurate the Cinema Centenary Complex Phase I and lay the foundation stone for Cinema Centenary Complex Phase II of the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce (SIFCC) in Chennai.
But this time too, the Chief Minister is not attending the function in person. She will take part in the celebrations through video conferencing and chair the proceedings from the Secretariat itself.
Arrangements for the event are made by the President of the association C Kalyan, Vice Presidents M Balasubramaniam, Editor Mohan, Pon Devarajan and Thomas D' Souza, honorary secretaries Ravi Kotarakara and L Suresh.
A large number of actors, led by South India Film Artistes Association's President R Sarath Kumar is also expected to attend the event.
