'Ganja' Karuppu denies charging more

IndiaGlitz [Friday, August 10, 2012]

'Ganja' Karuppu, one of the leading comedians of Tamil cinema, has denied an allegation against him that he charges Rs 10 lakh per day, putting producers under trouble.

"I would like to make it clear that I only ask what I deserve. Moreover, I don't charge on a daily basis. Rather, I receive remuneration as a package for the whole film," he says.

Stating that he understands well the problems of the producers, Karuppu says, "I know how they suffer to fund a film. My job is only to add value to the movie, not to fleece the producers."

Meanwhile, Karuppu is stepping into Bollywood. His first film in Hindi will be the remake of 'Poraali'. In Kollywood, 'Keeripullai', in which he is doing a pivotal role, is his 50th movie.
