Sarika to do an item number in David

The news about Chiyaan Vikram's next project, 'David', has been around for sometime now. But adding the list of gossips is that the film will have an item song performed by Sarika. That's right, Sarika, Shruthi Hassan's mother and the ex-wife of Kamal Haasan.

David is being directed by Bijay Nambiar, who came out of Mani Ratnam's school of direction is busy planning out the film which has music by Kolaveri fame Anirudh doing the music. The director apparently wanted a new face to do the song and look beyond the likes of Mallika Sherawat and Malaika Arora Khan. When he looked at Sarika's photo on a crushed piece of paper, his got an idea and immediately went over to ask Sarika about it. The actress agreed and has signed a contract.

Apart from this, David will feature Vikram, Lara Dutta and will also have Jiiva playing a role. Looks like it has gotten things going about it already.
