The 5th Bengaluru International Film Festival slated in this month is paying rich tributes to a few legendary personalities at the international level, saluting the 100 years of Indian cinema and picked eight Kannada films to the competition section at the national and international level.
The tribute is offered to 'Masters of Cinema' featuring great directors, screen writers, producers and editors such as Akira Kurosawa of Japan, Henri-Georges Clouzot of France, Michelangelo Antonioni of Italy by showing the best movies of legendary personalities. The festival kick starts on 20th of December and conclude on 27th of December.
In salutation to Indian cinema for 100 years the films picked for screening are Chayiliam- Malayalam /Director-Manoj Kana, Lessons in Forgetting - Tamil /Director-Unni Vijayan, Sarasammana Samaadhi-Kannada /Director- K N T Shastry, Samhitha-Marathi/Director - Sumitra Bhave& Sunil Sukthankar, Ithramaathram - Malayalam/Diector-K.Gopinathan, B.A Pass -Hindi/Director - Ajay Bahl, Investment-Marathi/Director- Ratnakar Matkari, Anhey Gorey da dan - Punjabi/Director-Gurvinder Singh, Baandhon- Assamese /Director- Jahnu Barua, Elar Char Adhyay- Bengali/Director- Bappaditya Bandopadhay, Mumbai Cha Raja- Hindi/Director-Manjeet Singh films will be screened.
In the Kannada competition section Koormavathara, Narasajjana Nursery, Prasaad, Kamsale Kaisale, Shikari, Ball Pen, Bhageerathi and Olavina Ole are in fray.
