Lahari Wins Against 'MYNA'

The legal complications that Friday release cinema 'Myna' faced that came to the neck has been resolved in the city civil court on Thursday evening.

Justice Ramakrishna has ordered payment of Rs.5 lakhs to Lahari Recording Company as Copy Right amount for using the song of Dr C Ashwath 'Kanada Kadalali Hambalisde Mana....(of Rashtrakavi GS Shivarudrappa).

The Lahari Recording Company by taking the issue for using the song in its custody (high popular light music song) without intimation has set a trend for all future offenders. In the 33years of existence in the music field Lahari has filed first petition on plagiarism of a song. On Thursday evening the team of 'Myna' for the final warrant turned up at the court.

Remove the song from the film or give the compensation of Rs.5 lakh was the order passed. Producer NS Rajakumar, director Nagashekhar and Baasha of Bahar Films (all the three received the notices) agreed to pay the compensation of Rs.5 lakhs. The cheque to that amount was issued on behalf of Baasha distributor of the film.

Lahari Recording Company appreciated the quick action the City Civil Court has taken in this regard. It is not the money that is important but the violation leads to such punishment is what we wanted to tell via Copy Right Act says Lahari Velu.
