One of the most celebrated comedy actors and musicians of the K-town is celebrating his special day today. In a career spanning barely 8 years, Premji has already established a firm position for himself in the cine industry, yet maintaining his versatility. Born as the second son to the veteran composer, song writer and actor Gangai Amaran, as Ganesh Gangai Amaran, he developed an uncompromising interest in music, and began his career as an assistant to his own cousin, composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. Premji's voice is familiar to every Tamil music fanatic, as his voice features in many rap portions of YSR's compositions.
He was later inducted to the screen as the heroine's friend in STR's 'Vallavan'. He later went on to making a concrete career in stardom, making himself a space in the comic actor category, with his debut in the line, in his brother Venkat Prabhu's 'Chennai 600028'. Meanwhile, he has also made his presence as a composer in Kollywood with his albums for 'Nenjathai Killathe' and 'Thozha'. He has an enviable record of 17 films in his career, out of which 4 are filming at the moment - 'Settai', 'Biriyani', 'Yaan', 'Onbadhula Guru'.
For all the entertainment he has offered us, we wish him all success in style and a very happy birthday!
Tidbit: His stage name was actually supposed to be Prem G, where G stands for Gangai Amaran, his dad. But out of a small spelling error, resulted his lucky mascot name, Premji.
