It his highly unfortunate that despite all the titans in the industry coming together, 'Kadal' failed to impress the audience enough. And now director Mani Ratnam is being held up by many distributors demanding a refund for their losses. There was a buzz doing the rounds that Subash Chandra Bose of Thirupathy Brothers was also one among those who wanted his money back. It is true that the brothers had invested 6 crore rupees for distribution rights in Chennai, Coimbatore and Madurai. But, they could earn only 1 crore out of the deal. However Linguswamy has denied that he asked for any refund on the remaining 5 crores.
"Mani Ratnam is a legend and my role model. At any cost, there is no possibility that I would stoop as much to ask him to pay me back. No one had anticipated such a turn out of the film. But this does not mean that me or for that matter, any body else from my office, will approach Mani Ratnam for money" says Linguswamy.
