Age old ace actress Rajasulochana passed away today morning, at her residence in Madipakkam Sadashiv Nagar. She was 77. Rajasulochana was born in 1935 as Rajeevasulochana in Madras Presidency. Her first film 'Gunasagari' was released in 1953. She has acted in many classics including 'Rangoon Radha', 'Ambikapathi', 'Sarangathara Thai Magalukku Kattiya Thaali', 'Kavalai Illadha Manidhan', 'Arasilam Kumari' and 'Nallavan Vazhvan'. She has the distinction of having had an enviable career across languages such as Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi, wherein she got the chance to co-star the yesteryear titans MGR and Sivaji Ganesan in Tamil, NTR in Telugu and Rajkumar in Kannada. In 70s, she has acted in supportive roles in films. Of others, the movies that earned her critical accolades include MGR's 'Idhayakani', Rajinikanth's 'Gayathri' and Kamal Hassan's 'SIla Nerangalil Sila Manidhargal'. In all, she has a whooping career of about 100 movies to her credit, across languages.
She was running a dance school named Pushpanjali Nruthya Kala Kendra, teaching classical dance to many ardent students. Recently, she faced health problems, and today morning she succumbed to it. Her final rites are to be held tomorrow, the 6th of March. Many prominent faces from stardom are paying respect to the departed soul, and are expected to turn up for the funeral. The Actors' Association has condoled her sad demise.
