What is it with the innocent sound engineer and the rumours on his directorial venture! This time, the breeze conveyed that Resul Pookutty had approached Superstar Rajinikanth for a project, and that even Rajini's manager confirmed it.

However, the Superstar's daughter Soundarya has denied all the humbug, saying that Resul had flown to Chennai only for sound design for 'Kochadaiyaan'. "Resul sir was at my office last week, for work related to 'Kochadaiyaan'. He also watched the movie and expressed his strong liking. But there is no talk of he directing a film with my father in the lead" says Soundarya. Earlier, there were rumours about his project with Amitabh Bachchan, but nothing surfaced. Seems like the breeze only blew southward.
