The much awaited sequel of the 1994 hit movie 'Amaithipadai', 'Nagaraja Cholan MA MLA' is all set to hit the big screen shortly. The team had the audio launch of the movie, with the august presence of many stars and stalwarts at the release. Directors Ameer, Kalaipuli S Thanu, SA Chandrasekar and Seeman, and actors Sivakumar, Sibirak, Sathyaraj, and many more big shots attended the function. Starring Sathyaraj, Seeman, Manivannan, Mridhula and Komal Sharma, 'Nagaraja Cholan MA MLA' is a film based on politics. Speaking on the film, the director of his fiftieth venture, Manivannan said "The movie does not point to any particular politician. However, I am not scared of what might be the consequence, in which I may be attacked." Getting slightly emotional, he added "Even if it were only a scratch that hits me, I dare say no politician can adorn the stage then on. Our tiger team and Seeman will handle the situation."
Being his 50th directorial venture, Manivannan holds 'Nagaraja Cholan MA MLA' close to his heart. Speaking on his arduous journey, he said "My mentor Bharathi Raja was not confident that I would become a director. Instead, it was the Isaignani, Ilayaraja, who got me an offer to direct 'Gopurangal Saivathillai'. I am indebted to him for my successful career. Though I would have loved to have him compose music for my 50th, I am disappointed that I could not afford to sign up with Ilayaraja, owing to the budget crunch. However, I am glad for the beautiful music composed by James Vasanthan."
