The stunt artistes of Tamil cinema are on strike with a number of petitions at hand, among which job security and equal chances in other Indian language films top the list. Speaking in support of the artistes and stunt directors, veteran director Bharathiraja has requested everybody to cooperate with the film fraternity, to arrive at a holistic decision.
Speaking to the media, he said "There have been a lot more serious and complicated issues that we have solved by discussions. I believe that a valuable and supportive result can be arrived at, for this problem as well. As a senior artiste from the film fraternity, I request the stunt directors to kindly cooperate and agree for discussions." He added that it is not the right decision to boycott Tamil movies, for the reason that they want equal chances in other languages too. The director has requested the stunt artistes to continue their valuable support to the film industry, by part-taking in the projects, while a positive result is arrived at.
