AR Rahman's Story and Screenplay

IndiaGlitz [Tuesday, May 07, 2013]

With half a dozen albums in the making and an ethereal track from 'Mariyaan' that just released, in a recent interview, the world famous musical genius AR Rahman opened up about his views and opinion, apart from his latest interest. "I feel it is only because of music that Indian movies are not spoilt. While Hollywood and Iranian movies do not have an album of their own, Indian cinema depends heavily on music. A whole host of emotions can be conveyed through music and I feel it is absolutely essential in our cinemas. However, these days, music for movies seems to have gotten struck in the rut of a specific formula" he says. Seems like it is this formula that he intends breaking. And so, ARR has taken to conceiving a story line and conceptualizing its screen play. "If all goes well, the film will be out next year. Direction calls for leaving behind and changing a lot. So I stuck to just the story and screen play. The film will not follow a stereotypical hero-heroine line. It will instead be different and musical" concludes the maestro.
