About 14 years back, Ramesh Kanna directed a film titled 'Thodarum' starring Ajith and Devayani in the lead. Later, the comic actor was seen as Ajith's friend and comedian in 'Villain', 'Varalaru' and 'Attagasam'.

Now, Ramesh Kanna is coming back with a bang in Ajith's 54th, 'Veeram'. The film, directed by Siva, casts Ramesh as Ajith's elder brother and comedian, while Thala's younger brother's character is played by Viddharth. The film portrays Ajith in a typically south Indian getup, especially with the film's first look posters showing him in a veshti-clad look. Tamannah has been roped in to essay the role of heroine and the story of 'Veeram' is said to be based on countryside. With this film, Ramesh Kanna is expected to have a comedy break after a long hiatus. Meanwhile, Ajith's 'Arrambam' is complete, with the film running in post production now.
