Nanda Press Meet

Wednesday, August 15, 2007

Nandha is happy and smiling now. His much publicized Lankan Tamil film Aani Ver was released in various parts of the globe including London and Canada. Directed by John, the movie is a touchy tale of the sufferings of ethnic Tamil race in Lanka. Nandha plays a doctor, who fights for the cause of the suppressed Tamils.

Talking about the movie, Nandha says, "It was indeed a pleasant surprise for me, when John urged me to do the lead role. Though the movie is about a controversial issue, we were keen not to side with anybody. The movie is a realistic attempt to portray the sufferings of the common man there. After working in the movie, I feel more matured as an actor.

Working in the streets of Jaffna was a new experience. I saw the demolished buildings and people with worried faces. I was saddened.

Plans are on to release the movie in India and efforts would be made to get it censored soon".

Also Nandha is eagerly awaiting the release of Urchagam, a commercial entertainer which is directed by Ravichandran and produced by GV Films. Sherin plays his ladylove.

Nandha says, "Urchagam features me in a new dimension and I hope to scale new heights with the movie".
