In order to capitalize on its fame which may give fillip to the movies good run at the theatres, director Simbu Devan and Vadivelu visited a few theatres where the movie is screened and gave away the moustaches to children, who thronged the movie hall in large numbers.

Says Simbu Devan, 'Like Superman's robe and Spiderman's mask, the moustache of Pulikesi has won fans. We came up with an idea of distributing the moustache to children who come to watch the movie. The response has been amazing'.
