There is an urgent need to encourage fresh talents in Kollywood, actor-director K Bhagyaraj said.
Taking part in the audio release function of Achacho, a movie featuring newcomers directed by V S Palrae, Bhagyaraj said, 'Unless new faces are not encouraged, innovative themes would become a rarity in filmdom. Recalling his earlier days and his experiences, Bhagyaraj expressed confidence that Achacho would go on to succeed at the box-office'.
Receiving the first copy of the audio cassette, Rama Narayanan, Tamil Film Producers Council president, said, 'Small and medium budget movies should succeed at the box-office. People should come forward and support them'.
Srinivasan, honorary secretary of the Tamil Film Producers Council and producer Venu Chettiyar among others spoke on the occasion.
According to Palrae, the movie is about the dwindling male-female ratio in our society. But it is laced with entertainment and humor. The movie features debutants Sri Hari, Priyasri in the lead roles. Shanmuga Sundaram and Thalaivasal Vijay are also in the cast.
Noorulah Khan has composed the songs.
The movie is pinned for a pre-Deepavali release. |
