It was the elite gathering in Chennai on Tuesday for the launch of Thamizh MA starring Jeeva and newcomer Anupama in the lead role.
Speaking on the occasion, veteran cinematographer-director Balu Mahendra said, 'The debutant director Ram had worked along with me and always had a spark in him to excel'.
The invitation and the star cast lined up for the movie has been very promising and expressed optimism that the movie would live up to expectations, he said.
On his part, director Ameer said Jeeva had the potential in him to do the role with aplomb.
Stating that he was initially approached to do the lead role in the movie, Ameer said, 'Jeeva is more appropriate for he has fire in his belly'.
Actor- director Parthiban, director V Z Durai, Tamil Nationalist Movement leader P Nedumaran, cinematographer Ramji and lyricist Na Muthukumar among others spoke on the occasion and expressed their wish for the movie's success at the box-office.
Thanking all those who participated in the function, the film’s director sounded confident that the movie would come out well and set a new trend in the industry.
