A grand function was organized at Sathyam Cinemas on Sunday to celebrate the successful run of Vettaiyadu Vilayadu.

State DGP Mukherjee and Additional DGP K V S Murthy presided over the celebrations and gave away mementoes to the cast and crew.

The Kamal Haasan starrier features Jyothika, Prakash Raj and Daniel Balaji in the cast. The movie has music by Harris Jeyaraj and directed by Gowtham Menon.

Speaking on the occasion, Kamal Haasan thanked Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for announcing various measures which have helped revive the Tamil film industry. 'Kollywood is marching ahead thanks to Karunanidhi's magnanimity. We pray for more from him'.

He also thanked all those behind the success of Vettaiyadu Vilayadu. Among those present on the occasion included SIFCC president KRG, Nadigar Sangam president Sarath Kumar, music director Harris Jeyaraj, cinematographer Raviverman, actress Shreya, director Dharani among others.
