Veyyil fame Vasanthabalan married Vijayalakshmi on Wednesday at Ambal Ramasamy Kalyana Mandapam at Virudhunagar.

Vasanthabalan, a one-time associate of director Shankar, had worked with him in several movies. He made his debut with Album with Aryan Rajesh and Sruthika in the lead roles.

Thanks to his mentor, Vasanthabalan got an opportunity to direct Veyyil. The huge success of the movie propelled him to stardom.

At his wedding, Vasanthabalan was greeted by no lesser person than his mentor himself.

Shankar along with his wife turned up for the wedding and blessed the couples. A host of celebrities wished him over phone.
