Dhanam is directed by debutant G Siva and produced by Nandivaram Sampathkumar for Sri Nandimedu Chelliyamman Movies, stars Sangeetha in the title role with Prem who was seen on the big screen in Kalaignar's Kannamma. She plays a revolutionary woman and this is a challenging role for her after her successful outing in Uyir.

Apart from the lead actor Prem, senior actors Kota Srinivasa Rao, Ashish Vidyarthi, Girish Karnad, Manobala and Ramesh Kanna are in the cast

Music is scored by Ilayaraja and cinematography is taken care of by Jeeva. Thotta Tharani is the Art Director and B Lenin will handle the editing.
