“I give enough freedom to my artistes and give an ear to their suggestions”, said director Jayaraj.

Speaking after the audio launch of Silanerangalil in Chennai on Wednesday, Jayaraj, the five-time National award winner, said, “The producer (Raj) approached me with the story. All I had to do was to give it a visual form. Hopefully it has come different”.

He further said, “All the artistes have given their best. Vincent Ashokan has given a good performance in the lead role. Silanerangalil is an off-beat film in a commercial format”.

On his part, Vincent said that he could not believe that he was asked to play the lead role, when he was busy doing baddie roles.

“All credit to Jayaraj for spotting the talent in me. I just did what the director wanted from me”.

Srikanth Deva has scored the music for the movie which has half-a-dozen catchy tunes. On his part, Srikanth said, “It was a joy scoring music for this movie. T M Soundarajan's son Selvaraj and veteran singer P Suseela have sung a song each. Vairamuthu has penned all the songs”.

Ramesh Khanna, Sriman among others spoke on the occasion.

Silanerangalil stars Vincent Ashokan, Navya Nair and Vineeth in prominent roles. The movie is expected to hit the screens later this month.

Earlier, the audio was released by Kamal Haasan at a private function.
