Director Samy and his forthcoming movie ‘Mirugam’ are in the news again. Former CBI director Karthikeyan launched the trailer of ‘Mirugam’ in Chennai on Saturday.
The movie, starring Padmapriya in the lead role, hit the headlines after the director allegedly slapped the actress for not performing well. The actress lodged a complaint against Samy with various associations of Tamil cinema and he was eventually banned for a year from directing the films.
The trailer of ‘Mirugam’ was released at a simple function in which actresses Vimala Raman and Sangeetha took part.
Speaking on the occasion, Karthikeyan said, “Though the trailer has crude action scenes, I am convinced that this movie carries a strong message. Such films should be encouraged to create a reformed society.”
Samy assured that the movie would be a lesson to today’s society, which is plagued by several problems. |
