More women should come forward to work in various departments of Tamil cinema, says actress Kushboo.
 
Taking part in the movie launch of Vallamai Tharayo starring Parthiban and Chaya Singh and directed by newcomer Madhumitha, Kushboo said, "Very few women have made their mark in Tamil film industry. Madhumitha is one of the talented women and I am confident that she would make a mark for herself in the industry".
 
Kushboo recalled that women like B R Vijayalakshmi and Suhasini Mani Ratnam contributed their best behind the camera and so does the director V. Priya. Women directors can render quality entertainers and the likes of Banumathy Ramakrishna and Priya are a proof to it, she added.
 
Parthiban heaped laurels on director Madhumitha. Also spoke on the occasion include Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan, Film Distributors Association President Kalaipuli G. Sekaran, directors Kasthooriraja, Ram, Lingusamy and Balaji Sakthivel.
 
The most striking feature of the movie launch was that women achievers in various fields came together to launch it. Writer cum senior police officer Thilakavathy, writer Sivashankari, advocate Sumathy, Dr Kamal Selvaraj, director V Priya and Kushboo attended the function.
