The combo of Goundamani and Sathyaraj is always considered a safe bet in Tamil film industry. The two had teamed up to render several hit films, which are laced with humour and satire all through. Though Sathyaraj has continued to carry his good form, Goundamani chose to stay away from films for a while.
After a brief interval, the duo is back together for a movie titled Thangam. Directed by G Kicchas, the movie is set in Pollachi and was shot in 45 days.
According to Sathyaraj, "Thangam is a typical masala entertainer. We shot the movie in less than 50 days. All the artistes extended their co-operation and the movie has shaped up really well".
On his part, Sathyaraj says, "Though I have acted in off-beat movies like Periyar and Onbathu Rupai Nottu, I am still happy that offers come to me to do typical masala movies. Goundamani is a bundle of energy and to act with him is a delight. He is certainly going to make it big in his second innings". Megha Nair plays the heroine. The movie has musical score by Srikanth Deva
