It was an evening that witnessed a lot of talented personalities coming together for a noble cause. Sobha Hridaya Ragam 2008, the musical and dance show, wasorganised to raise funds to treat 125 children with congenital heart diseases from poor families.  The event was organised by the World Malayalee Council — Chennai Province, Madras Medical Mission and Malayala Manorama. It was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium on February 24.

The highlights of the evening were the dance programme by Actor Shobana along with her students and a musical show by 32 singers and music directors from the Malayalam film world. All the artists rendered their performance for free of cost to support the noble cause. Senior music directors Dakshinamoorthi, M. K. Arjunan, and Ousepachan; film director Vinayan, singers P. Jayachandran, Sujatha Mohan, Ganga, George Peter, Francis, Manjari, Santhosh Kesavan, Vipin Xavier and Remi Tommy performed all time Malayalam favourite hits. Music director Vidyasagar and singers Tipu and Karthik were among those who participated from the Tamil film industry

The evening was graced by the presence of Ulaga Naayagan Kamal Haasan, the project ambassador. The multi talented person enthralled the audiences by singing two songs – one in Malayalam and another in Tamil.
