Veteran director Balu Mahendra said, “Movies for children are rarely made in Tamil cinema. Every director should aspire to do a movie for them'. Speaking at the audio launch of ‘Vannathupoochi’ in Chennai on Tuesday, Balu Mehndra said. 'Every director has a social responsibility and should fulfill it”.
Speaking on the occasion, director Ameer said, “Corporates should encourage and promote even small and medium budget movies”.
“Even small budget films are made with great difficulty by the producers. Corporates like Pyramid Saimira, who are evincing keen interest in distribution of Tamil films, should come forward and help them”.
‘Vannathupoochi’, directed by Rasi Azhagappan, centers around the emotions shared between a young girl and her grandfather. Bala Singh plays the grandfather while Sri Lakshmi is cast as grand daughter. Actress Revathy plays a prominent role in the film.
Veteran film director Mahendran urged filmmakers to do away with romantic duets. 'It is a stigma in Tamil cinema', he said.
Actress Revathy, music director Rehan and producer-director Rasi Azhagappan were also present. The audio was jointly released by Balu Mahendra and Mahendran and was received by Ameer. |
