The Tamil film world should produce films with Tamil titles and uphold Tamil culture, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi has said. Speaking at the audio launch of 'Perumal' starring Sundar C and Namitha, he said, "Even the films that were selected for government grant did not have Tamil names in the past". Dispelling the notion that he entered politics making use of his film world connection, he said it was the other way round.
The Chief Minister's grandson M K Arivunidhi, has rendered a song in the film 'Perumal'. The song 'Kaadhal Vaipokamey' has been taken from the film 'Suvar Illatha Chithirangal', directed by K Bhagyaraj. In this remix version Arivunidhi's voice has replaced that of the male singer of the original song, while S Janaki's voice has been retained. Tamilnadu Film Producers Association president Rama Narayanan said the film world had gained a lot from the Chief Minister. Actor-director K Bhagyaraj, actors Sundar C, Vivek, director Vincent Selva, music director Sreekanth Deva and producer P Shanmugam participated in the function. |
