Veteran actor and producer K. Balaji of Sujathi Cine Combines breathed his last  today afternoon at about 4:30PM in a private hospital in Chennai. A very well established and popular actor in the 60s, K.Balaji had performed a variety of roles from a hero to villain. Some of his memorable movies as an actor are Padithale Mattum Podhuma, Bale Pandiya, Billa (original). He was one of the pioneers in remaking blockbuster bollywood flicks in Tamil with Kamal Hassan and Rajinikanth.

He had produced blockbuster hits with films like Billa, Needhi, Vaazhkai, Savaal, Viduthalai and Sattham to name a few. K.Balaji is also the father-in-law of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal.
