Film distributors should encourage smaller producers for the betterment of the film industry, actor Kamal Haasan said.

Releasing the audio of the film Yuga (being produced collectively by 50 film technicians), Kamal Haasan said, 'during the early days of my career, I wanted to get involved in a similar venture. We even finalized the script. Unfortunately, it had to be shelved . The same story went on to make it big in Malayalam.'

Hailing the efforts of the 50 technicians, who have come forward to produce Yuga, Kamal Haasan said only when the distributors encourage such ventures, they would be motivated to come out with more'.

Yuga stars Richard, Swarnamalya, Santhoshi and Swetha Rani in the lead roles and directed by Yaar Kannan.

Yuga is a thriller which would bring audience to the edge of their seats, says Kannan.

Tamil Film Producer Council President Sathya jyothy Thygarajan expressed his hope that the movie would make it big at the theatres and set a new trend in Tamil cinema.

The first copy of the audio was received by actresses Namitha and Asin while the likes of Sandhya, Richard, producer A L Azhagappan also took part. Also three songs set to tunes by Dheena were specially screened on the occasion.
