A galaxy of stars gathered at AVM Studios on a Sunday morning to grace the launch of producer Kalaipuli S Thanu's next production venture Sakkaraikatti.

The movie marks the entry of actor-director K Bhagyaraj's son Santhanu to big screen.

Directed by debutant Kalaprakash, the movie has musical score by A R Rehman.

The highlight on the occasion was AR Rehman, who was spotted in a jovial mood interacting with the guests.

Speaking on the occasion, Rehman said, 'Though the movie features a new director and a new face as hero yet I signed the film since I have confidence on the script. It has all essential features in it to become a blockbuster'.

Rehman further said, 'I have composed three songs for Rajini starrer Sivaji and three more would be recorded soon.'

He further expressed his desire to be associated with more noble ventures and said series of albums for charity would be composed by him.

On recent controversies involving Ilayaraja's musical symphony on Thiruvasagam, Rehman said, 'Ilayaraja is a musical genius and no doubt his Symphonic Oratoria on Thiruvasagam is a master piece. The controversies over his work is needless and uncalled for'.

Rehman has been assigned to composed music for English movie to be directed by Shekar Kapur soon.

Among those who took part in the muhurat included actors Vijay, Sibiraj, Sathyaraj, directors S J Suryah, Perarasu, Cheran, Ameer, Murugadoss, producers Thenappan, A M Rathinam among others.
