I am not keen on playing the hero , says Vadivelu, whose debut venture as hero Imsai Arasan 23 Pulikesi is all set to hit the theatres later this month.

Talking to mediamen at the audio launch of the movie held in Chennai on Wednesday, Vadivelu recalled his early days in Tamil film industry and expressed thanks to director Simbu Devan and producer (director) Shankar for casting him in the lead role in the movie.

'Acting in a historic movie is no easy task. All credit goes to the whole cast and crew for making it a memorable affair,' he added.

On his part Shankar said, 'my S Films was keen on making movies on varied themes. When Simbu Devan narrated the story, I was really impressed. After Kadhal directed by Balaji Sakthivel, I thought Imsai would be the right movie. The movie has really come out well and would be a hilarious movie sure to enthrall people of all age-groups. '

On Vadivelu, Shankar said, 'a Tamil actor who can be compared with the likes of Charlie Chaplin is Vadivelu. He has impressed everyone in the movie'.

Simbu Devan, thanking Shankar, said, 'Imsai is a different which would get appreciated by the masses'.

Music-director Sabesh Murali, lyricist Plamai Puithan and cinematographer Arthur Wilson was also present on the occasion.
