It was the turn of newly-married couple Suriya and Jyothika to call on the media and thank them. After a grand wedding in Chennai on Monday, the star couple along with Suriya's father Sivakumar called on the media in a city hotel on Tuesday afternoon.

Talking to media men, Sivakumar expressed his apology for not inviting the media for the wedding. Speaking on the occasion, he said he had proposed to invite them for the wedding reception which was eventually cancelled for security reasons.

Talking to journalists, Suriya expressed his gratitude for their continued patronage. He further said that they would go on honeymoon to European countries.

Jyothika, thanking the scribes, said, ' She has no plans to act for now. Iam thrilled to become a member of Suriya's family.'

Asked whether she would take up some work behind the camera, Jyothika said she has not planned anything.
