Many stars from tinsel town graced the inaugural function of Shankar Eye Care Centre owned by Dr. Vijay Shankar, son of the late actor Jaishankar.

Many actors and filmmakers made it a point to attend the function as a token of their friendship and respect towards the late actor. Madhavan, Napolean, Sathyaraj, Charlie, Ram Kumar, Crazy Mohan, Y.G. Mahendra, S. Vee. Shekar, Charan, and Murugadas were among those who attended the function.

The hi-tech clinic, located in R.A. Puram, Chennai, offers treatment such as Phacoemulsification with intra ocular lens implantation, Lasik laser procedure, Retina clinic, and Glaucoma surgery.
