Ramanarayanan got re-elected to the post of President of the Tamil Film Producers' Council in the much-awaited elections held on Sunday. His supporters won all the other five posts in the management committee of the council by defeating the opposite camp headed by Radhika Sarathkumar.
Ramanarayanan got 394 votes while his rival Panchu Arunachalam secured 138 votes. S A Chandrasekaran and Anbalaya Prabhakaran were elected vice-presidents of the council. Sivasakthi Pandian secured 292 votes to become the secretary while his rival Radhika managed 228 votes.
Muralidharan of Lakshmi Movie Makers won the other secretary post. Kaja Mohideen was elected treasurer of the council.
Meanwhile, there were heated exchanges between the supporters of Radhika and Balu of K B Films as the latter's disparaging words were provocative enough for Radhika's husband Sarath Kumar and her stepbrother Radha Ravi to jump to her defense.
