It is now thirty years since the Tamil Film Producers Council was established. The council was established in July 1979 by Mr. Muktha Srinivasan, Mr. Valampuri Somnathan and Mr. AVM Murugan.

A function was held to honor and present shields to these founders at the Film Chamber on the 18th of July.
