On the hat-trick.. This success gives me a sense of fear. I should sustain this good run in my forthcoming movies. The expectations of the audience would be more and I should live up to it. Do you think doing a remake is a very difficult? Certainly. Doing a remake is a difficult task. When I decided to remake the Telugu hit Okkadu as Ghilli, noted actor-director Bhagyaraj advised me that doing a remake is never an easy job. A melodrama from other languages can be remade, but an action packed film makes the job all the more difficult. I felt the pressure while I was directing the movie. But thanks to the dedication shown by the entire team and above all with the blessings of Almighty, Ghilli went on to become a successful movie. How was it to work with actors - Vikram and Vijay? I was fortunate to work with Vikram in Dhil and Dhool and with Vijay in Ghilli. Both are talented actors with great energy levels. Their dedication and commitment towards their profession was astounding. You seems to share a good rapport with music director Vidyasagar? Yes indeed. We both work without any ego. He comes out with amazing tunes. Whatever I demand, he is ready with it. After music composer Illayaraja, Vidyasagar is a full-fledged musician, who has thorough knowledge of both Western and Carnatic music. What are the attributes for a successful director? Hard work, dedication and sincerity towards the profession are the needed virtues. Above all, he needs the blessings of Almighty. |
