I will emulate my father: Sibiraj

This actor has had just two releases so far. He sounds very confident that he would make it big kollywood and establish himself as his father, who has successfully completed 25 years of acting and still going strong. Sibiraj, son of popular star Sathyaraj, made his debut last year with Student No 1. Though the movie received very little commercial success, it helped establish Sibiraj as an actor among the movie-buffs.

Now, almost after an year, he is back with his next movie. He has acted along with his father in the movie. A confident Sibiraj says, ''being the son of a popular actor gave me an easy entry into the filmdom. But sustaining a place in this most competitive industry, would depend solely on my skills and talents''. ''Iam confident that Jor will help me establish my career in industry. I like to stay long in the industry and win the confidence of my producers''.

In an interview, Sibiraj shares his thoughts on his debut venture and his future aspirations.

About your role in Jore?

I have given my best in choreography and comedy sequences too. It was a great experience acting in comedy scenes with Vadivelu and my father (Sathyaraj). Everything has come out good in the movie. Iam happy that the movie is doing good at the box-office.

How was it acting with Sathyaraj?

I had no tensions acting with my father. Even before the shooting for the movie commenced, my father advised me to be relaxed . I just did what my director urged me to perform on the screen. I imbibed a lot looking at my father during the shootings, which helped me immensely.

On sons of popular actors taking to acting?

Anyone can become an actor. But the entry is always easy for sons of popular film personalities when they make their debut. The movie would catch the attention of many. But for his second film, he has to struggle. Only if one possess the right skills and talent, he can sustain in the industry.

What did you learn from your father?

My father rose to stardom performing a variety of roles. He advised me to be punctual for my shootings, respect elders and show sincerity and dedication towards the profession. His words are of immense help to me.
