How did you enter filmdom? Noted Malayalam director Kamal introduced me to cinema. It was in his Nammal that I made my debut. The movie did well and I had people recognizing me for my good performance. I followed it with movies like Meeravidae Thukkavum Mutuvindae Sopnavu, Freedom, a Telugu movie titled Anandhamayee and a Kannada movie titled News. Did your family welcome your decision to enter filmdom? But for them I would not have come into filmdom. My father is an advocate in Kerala and my sister is a kathak dancer settled in USA. These days, people's attitude towards film industry has changed a lot. My parents had no hesitation when I got an offer through director Kamal to enter filmdom. I accept movies only after discussing about my role with my parents. I will do nothing that would harm their sentiments. How did you bag the role in Dass? I got a call from Lakshmi Movie Makers one fine day. After seeing me on a live show in a Malayalam satellite channel they had decided to cast me as heroine in their home production. I immediately accepted the offer, as it involved a popular star like Ravi and a renowned production house. Your favorite hobbies? I love to do fashion designing, cooking besides taking a long ride in my Scooty. I emerged school-topper in my higher secondary examinations. Now I am pursuing under graduate course in English literature. Your aspirations? I want to do meaningful films and establish myself as an actress suitable to do any roles. Be it Tamil, Telugu or Malayalam, I want to leave my mark.
