Achacho - Promising debut
IndiaGlitz  [Monday, September 04, 2006]

It's not easy to get a break in films without the requisite talent. Noorulah Khan is one such debutant, who has proved his mettle in his maiden musical album Achacho. With a healthy mix of soft, peppy and earthy songs, Noorulah has shown he is a good prospect for the future. Seemingly possess an inclination to come up with racy folk numbers. Especially the song Aallipoove sticks to the heart in just one listening.

Noorulah Khan has made a right beginning. Hope he continues his good work in coming days.

Aallipoove  (Harish Raghavendra, Prasanna)

Harish Raghavendra, known for his mellifluous voice joins hands with Prasanna to croon this fast paced number. With the use of thavil and dholaks, the music-director has come up with a brisk tune that would surely make the masses happy. Equally the lyrics are very simple and can be murmured by all. Harish is as ever in fine fettle. He garnishes the number with all the right nuances. A good attempt

Pasanga Pavam  (Mathangi)

A refreshing number. Begins on a brisk note with good rhythmic beats. Noorulah doesn't seems to be a novice when it comes to blending the different sounds. Mathangi, as usual with her peppy style, injects life into the song. Mathangi sure deserves a sustained run by all the musicians. She has the lilt and range to rise up to any occasion.

Thottu Vidu  (Sunitha Sarathy)

A jazz-inspired romantic number. The song has shades of Yuvan Shankar’s touch. The peppy beats with the Anglican way of rendering by Sunitha Sarathy exude a fresh look.

Also the veena interludes by Noorulah Khan are innovative and don’t fail to appeal.

Pengal  (Unni Menon, Mahathi)

A soft pathos, which perhaps dwells on the movie's theme. Seemingly reminding one of Ilayaraja in his heydays, the song has very less instruments but a soft Unni Menon going steady. Mahathi chips in with her best in between.

Paathugoda (Thippu, Malathy)

The rocking song of the album. The high-voltage Malathy and electric Thippu come together to render their adrenaline rushing number. Straightaway, Noorulah goes for all the ear-shattering instruments to create a dapanguthu feel. A typical mass number.
